Classic Car Auctions says:

1971 Mark 1 Ford Capri 3.0 Ltr converted to a Perana V8 in 1971 in South Africa. The legendary Basil Green had a world-wide reputation in Motorsport preparation and for a period built up a business shoehorning big V8s into otherwise innocuous Fords. A number of Capris were specially built for the South African market and were the only V8 Capris ever sanctioned by Ford and came with a Ford Warranty at the time.

This desirable and most capable Ford Capri is fitted with a 5.7ltr Cleveland and 4-speed manual gearbox and was built, in period, by a couple of Basil Green employees as a private project incorporating a number of small modifications that they thought desirable. Since arriving in the UK, the car has benefited from a bare metal respray and a full engine rebuild at considerable expense.

Currently UK registered, registration number 'TNB120J' is supplied with an MoT certificate valid till August 2016. This car is quick, makes all the right noises and is a real head-turner. Come and have a look, you'll be impressed.
